Axis to Expand in Mexico

18 Aug 2011

Mexico is one of Axis's largest operations in Latin America and the company plans to target business and revenue growth in areas including state catastrophe work, retail and industrial risks and financial lines.

It plans to recruit two senior ex-pat adjusters to support current accounts and to target growth in the international reinsurance business. The company is also boosting its engineering capabilities and investing in technology.

Norman Mitchell, executive director, said: "Our commitment continues to the region and our plans remain to expand our presence. We see clear opportunities to offer clients with international reinsurance needs access to a high level of service and expertise. We support these needs locally and also through our London based Adjusters. This investment is further evidence of our continued commitment to the Mexican market."

Axis has two offices across Mexico with a staff of 25 plus a fixed team of 40 engineers and architects to evaluate cause and value of losses for catastrophe events and large national accounts. In the region the company also has operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and Peru.
